Toronto police look to identify man after person in wheelchair punched in face

Toronto police have released a photo of a man wanted in connection to an assault investigation in late April.

Police say on April 25, officers responded to a call for an assault in the area of Yonge Street and College Street around 5:45 p.m.

Officers say it’s been reported that after a man entered a building, they approached a person who is confined to a wheelchair, and punched them in the face. Police add the attack was unprovoked and the two are not known to each other.

The man was last seen walking away from the area, southbound on Yonge Street, west on Gerrard Street.

The victim suffered a wound underneath the eye, according to police.

Police describe the man as being between the ages 25 and 35, with dark skin, and short dark hair, wearing a grey long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and construction-style boots, and a red backpack.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
